The sign up sheet for parent consultations has gone up so please do remember to sign up for a time slot. Discussing your child’s progress and development is incredibly important so please do try and attend. If none of the available time slots are convenient then have a word with your child’s key worker as she may be able to move things around.
Welcome to our first newsblog. We will regularly post an update on Parentzone to keep parents up to date with what is going on in the nursery.
Monday 16th February marks the first day of Discovery Nursery and Preschool and we would like to welcome all the parents and children.
We are particularly pleased to welcome Ronaldis, Seyi and Daisy who are taking part in our Little Whisks half term cooking program. Throughout the week they will be baking some yummy treats and learning in the process.
Uniform orders should be ready for collection on Monday.
The children are looking forward to Pancake Day and Chinese New Year. Our CNY parade will take place on Thursday at 3.45pm so feel free to pop by the nursery at that time to see the children enjoying the parade. Please remember that parents are not permitted to take pictures of the children in accordance with our Mobile Phone and Camera policy (which can be viewed on Parentzone).
A staff member will be capturing the parade on the nursery camera so you will have a chance to view the pictures in the nursery,
Just a reminder that Wednesday 18th February is Staff Training Day and the nursery will be closed.
World Book Week
The week beginning 2 March is World Book Week and we will be celebrating this by talking more than we usually do about books! At the end of the week (Friday 6th) we will be inviting all the children to come into nursery dressed as their favourite book character. Please do NOT feel that you should buy a costume. If you need inspiration please visit: http://www.netmums.com/activities/fun-at-home/dressing-up-ideas
To celebrate #nationalstorytellingweek we will be encouraging each of the children to take home a book this week to read with you over the weekend.
Books are a great way of encouraging communication, language and creativity so please do take a few moments to share a book with your child this weekend.
