The weather has been a bit unpredictable but that has not stopped us having a ton of fun! There are so many highlights over the past couple of weeks that I had to ask the children what they enjoyed most, they said:

mohsin1. The visit from ‘Fluffy’ the cat. Last week, Mohsin came into nursery with a little surprise and the children were all very excited to meet Fluffy. Mohsin was very good at holding fluffy as the children got to have a look (but not a touch unfortunately due to the risk of allergies).

august park2. The visit to our local park. Who knew that we had this little gem a short distance from the nursery. The pictures speak for themselves.

    3. The new bikebikess. The development of our outside area is on our improvement plan and the new bikes are a big hit with the children.

    4. Our nurserybeach beach! If we can’t get to the beach then the beach will have to come to us :-)  Over the next few weeks, the construction room is going to be transformed into our own beach. Feel free to bring your children’s beach wear into nursery as they role play beach life.

ashimaThis week our home corner area was ‘Ashima’s house’ and it was wonderful to hear Ashima sharing stories of her family with her friends. If you would like to send in pictures from home of your family for our home corner, please do send it through the diary. Just a reminder to send pictures that we can keep :-)

This week we will be having fun with tie dye. Please can you your child bring in a plain white t-shirt before Thursday 11 August.

This month we will be welcoming Kayne for a 2 week work experience placement. Kayne has been accepted at UCL to study to become an Early Years Teacher. He is passionate about the learning and development of children and is excited to be part of the team (if only for a short time).

Work experience is very valuable to future teachers and whilst they are only present to shadow and observe our teachers, it makes a huge difference to their study.

Please note that all work experience placements and volunteers are subject to an enhanced DBS before coming to Discovery.
