I should be forgiven for sending this blog so late as I have been busy baking for our fundraising event this week.
As you know, we are raising money for a nursery bus and will be holding a number of events to support this. Our first Coffee and Cake morning is tomorrow and will run throughout the week. Donations of baked or bought goods will be much appreciated, and please do bring some money to buy a cake or a tea/coffee to go. There will be no fixed price we will just be accepting donations.
Birthdays
Happy Birthday to Aryan who turned 3 last week.
New Joiners
We were please to welcome Jahmariyah to the nursery last week. At 1 year and 10 months, Jahmariyah is our youngest family member and has proved a big hit with the children.
Whilst I have previously reserved places for children 2 years and over (with the exception of Jayda who also joined us at 1 year 10 months, and Isaiah who came over as a baby from legacy Fairytale), we have decided to accept a maximum of 3 children under the age of 2. As part of my Early Years teaching postgrad, I was required to do a placement in another nursery’s baby room and the experience was enlightening. I hope to be able to share some of the experience at Discovery and am very excited to introduce some littler ones into the nursery.
A few reminders
As the weather is getting colder, please can all children please have a warm (weatherproof) jacket and hat.
Lost items
Please can you check your children’s belongings for a pair of black leggings and a ‘frozen’ hat which belong to Lila and have gone missing.
Last Week
The focus of last week was Keep Fit and the children absolutely embraced it. They learnt about muscles, exercise, healthy eating and it was wonderful to hear them recall why we need to exercise and ways to hydrate our bodies.
